UNITED/CONTINENTAL AIRLINES, has now implemented the third service center for their B747,B777, B787 and A350 maintenance and FAA reporting system. The world’s largest air carrier has partnered with General Electrodynamics Corporation’s (GEC). United chose GEC’s aircraft weight and balance system for use at Chicago (ORD) and San Francisco (SFO), concluding two years of rigorous testing and detailed monitoring. GEC’s recently delivered the 3rd system will be placed at Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, DC. Several top United Executives quoted and confirmed, “the savings, not only in aircraft performance, increased payload, and fuel conservation, but safety for the equipment operators, inspectors, ground crew and ultimately our passengers more than justifies the cost”.
